Alfred Kubin

Kubin’s (1877 – 1959) work is characterized by the depiction of fantastic dream visions, which are depicted with a nervous graphic line. Kubin was inspired by the visionary and symbolic works of Francisco de Goya, James Ensor, Odilon Redon, Edvard Munch and Max Klinger, among others. He worked almost exclusively as a graphic artist. As a full member of the Deutscher Künstlerbund, he also took part in the DKB annual exhibitions in the mid-1950s.
