Gert Heinrich Wollheim

Gert Heinrich Wollheim (Dresden 1894 – 1974 New York) liked to stage, preferably himself. He made no secret of his convictions, representing them with the same anarchic self-confidence with which he shook up the established forms of representation of his time and created pictures in his own style. Due to the dazzling successes of his wild time in Düsseldorf, he is regarded in art history as an unconventional great of Expressionism.
